Why become a Registered Day Home Educator?

  • check mark icon As an agency that is contracted with Children’s Services, providers receive additional funding (top-up) to enhance their child care business.

  • check mark icon Regular workshops to enhance your knowledge of child care.

  • check mark icon Training and resources to enhance your family day home environment.
  • check mark icon Parent referrals for child care.
  • check mark icon Liability insurance at a low group rate.
  • check mark icon Backup care (if possible), when you are unavailable to provide care.

What do I need to apply?

  • check mark icon A complete application form including 3 references,
    preferably related to child care.
  • check mark icon Note from family Physician verifying health.
  • check mark icon Current immunization records for family pets.
  • check mark icon A visit from the agency.
  • check mark icon A Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector search),
    clear of any child related offenses, as well as for anyone
    over 18 in the home.
  • check mark icon Child Care First Aid certificate (will be paid for by the agency).
    Providers have three months to obtain their certificate.
  • check mark icon Child Welfare Check, as well as for anyone over 18 in the home.
